I got a car from Ray Skillman in February 2026, but am just now able to post my review (June 2026). Mark Hudson was my salesman and he was super friendly, funny and got me in my new car! I participated in their Lease Here, Pay Here program after no one in Indianapolis would approve me for a car for either financing or leasing without a co-signer. And I do mean NO ONE. I had been leasing a Chevy Cruze from Ray Skillman since 2023 and my lease was set to end in March 2026. Having moved to a different state in 2024, I was contacted by sales manager, David and he scheduled an appt for me to come in and discuss other options for a vehicle before my lease ended. I drove there and David paired me with Mark, he was very patient with me as I looked at possibilties of a new vehicle. I expressed to him that I was worried there wouldn’t be any options due to my credit and not having my ideal amount for a down payment. I looked at and test drove a 2025 Hyundai Kona and absolutely fell in love with it. We went inside and Mark worked with David and others on the team and they got me approved with no down payment! I was super happy, grateful and relieved to have been able to not only get the vehicle I wanted, but to not have to stress about not finding a car before my lease ended. I would recommend Ray Skillman to anyone in need of a new or used car. They offered me a chance when literally no one else in the city would and thanks to their Lease Here, Pay Here program, my credit has gone up significantly and I was able To get the car I’d wanted. Service for oil change and tire rotation was great. I needed 3 windshield wipers and inquired as to an installation fee. I was very disappointed to find there is an installation fee. I incorrectly assumed installation would be done as a courtesy especially since I purchased my car from you. I purchased the wipers from the parts department. I brought my car in. I waited for someone to check me in. No problem except the 15 minute wait. Then I was not given even an estimate of how long it would take. I asked… a few hours? I was told probably a long time and that I should drop the car off. That wasn’t an option so I waited. My left blinker doesn’t work. I already knew that it wasn’t the light bulb or a fuse. So… Mazda cars have this expensive problem and the owner has to shill out almost $4000. I declined service, causing me to drive somewhat less safe. Ray Skillman Hyundai service department is very frustrating to deal with. I have a 2024 Tuson I bought from Ray Skillman, in just over a year I had to take it in due to a loud noise when hitting bumps, It turned out to be a shock that went bad so they send me back home. Telling me they would have to order a shock had to come back in a week later to have the shock installed. Yesterday I called their service department and told them the air conditioning had stopped working. They told me to bring it in today and I live an hour away from them. I drive all the way there. Sit in there show room for two hours waiting for them to come out and tell me that their Freon machine does not work., And that I will have to come back next week so they can put it on the machine and tell me what’s wrong then they will then order the part and I’ll have to come back again to hopefully install the part. This makes three trips to get one problem solved. their service. Staff is very polite, but their service itself is very frustrating.. Every time I have went in there, they send me back home to tell me to come back in a week or two to hopefully get the problem fixed. Sometimes it takes three trips, possibly four trips to get anything done.. Ray Skillman’s “customer no service department” is very frustrating to deal with. I don’t think my next car will come from Ray Skillman .

I took my car in for an appointment to get part of my air conditioning system fixed, as well as to get the alignment fixed since my alignment was off. After waiting the expected/necessary few hours to get the AC fixed, I was notified that my car needed new tie rods, which was causing the bad alignment on my car. After signing off on the new tie rods, and waiting another few hours for the fix, I received my car back at the end of the appointment and this is where things went South. Upon driving my car out of the dealership, I noticed the alignment was even worse than before my appointment. The car pulls all over the place and I have to wrestle with the steering wheel every time I drive. It's so bad you can even see with the naked eye that the "toe" alignment on the back left wheel is off and is pointing slightly towards the right. I spent an extra 4 hours at the dealership just to get my alignment fixed only for it to be worse after the appointment than before the appointment, very disappointing.

2nd time submitting this review. Someone at Ray Skillman changed my 1 star rating to a 4 star rating. I did NOT change my rating. They also removed my review. Firstly, I just want to say the team that I worked with were very nice people and even had me come in to get a key fob at no cost to me. That being said, let's get into it. I traveled 2.5 hours to get the vehicle they said I was approved for, I was so excited. Bought the Dodge Caravan and brought it home where I immediately noticed the back bumper (one piece) had clearly been hit. I did not notice this during the visual inspection I did prior to leaving the lot. I did not buy the warranty at time of purchase. I own that piece. Then when filling the gas tank, I can't leave the hose in the gas tank and walk away from it because every few seconds, the hose will pop off so I have to stand there to be able to fill my tank. I did a google search and (not confirmed) it has something to do with the emissions system. Sounds expensive doesn't it? Then we took a vacation and as long as the van was moving, no problems but when we had to stop, the van would stop in traffic every time we stopped (safe?, no!) I took it to a local mechanic and...wait for it...it's a transmission issue. The technician says it's may cost between $6-7K to repair!! I've only made one car payment! I've owned it less than a month. Oh, Ray Skillman's staff did offer to help diagnosis it prior to me taking it to a local shop (at my cost) if I would bring it in. I don't feel safe in this vehicle so there is no way I'm traveling 2.5 hours to have it checked out. Unfortunately, I can't, in good conscience, recommend this dealership, even though I enjoyed my interactions with the staff. I would feel horrible if someone else bought into a similar substandard vehicle based on my recommendation. So disappointed.

The tech Tyler, was also very communicative when I was picking up my vehicle. Once I managed to find the OBDII sensor, Tyler hooked up the code reader and thoroughly explained the few codes to me that popped up. Everyone including me, thought the sensor was previously removed from my vehicle as they could not find it in the control panel. Ask them for the details of how the sensor was found if you’re curious. Lol. I’ll just say at one point as I was on the ground digging through my control panel looking, four of them were standing behind me watching. It was comical to say the least. They also noticed my washer fluid being low, and filled that for me. I will continue driving 45 minutes to the dealership if that means, I get great service every time.
